Commentary on the erection of a semi-colossal bronze statue, by sculptor Antonio Sola, of the Spanish novelist, poet and playwright, Miguel de Cervantes, in Montevideo. Includes a drawing of the statue, and a transcription of its accompanying inscription: 'A Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra. Principe de los ingenios Españoles. Año de MDCCCXXXV. Dated 30 January 1838, signed 'Un Oriental'
