Article considering the House of Lords' decision on legal professional privilege (Three Rivers District Council v Bank of England), impact of the Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI) collapse, and issues related to the reassessment of the scope and justification of litigation privilege. The author was the UK Government's policy adviser responsible for the Attorney General's intervention in the House of Lords proceedings in Three Rivers (No 6).
