Ambassador Laurence A, Steinhardt reported to the
Department today that he was again unable to speak on the
telephone to the captain of the S.S. City of Flint at
midnight (Moscow time), as he had hoped to do.
Ambassador Steinhardt reported that he had again
been given to understand that the crew was well and that
no illness was reported.
