, In response to the request contained
/Ufy '      ln my of September 1st the United
States Government have been good enough to
undertake the protection of the persons,
property and interests for whose protection
His Majesty* s Ambassador in Germany and the
Consular Officers under his superintendence
would normally be responsible.
I now have ths honour, under instructions
from His Majesty*s Principal Secretary of State
for Foreign Affairs, to express the hope that
the United States Government would also be good
enough to take charge of similar British
Interests in that part of Poland occupied by
the German forces and also In the Protectorate
of Bohemia and Moravia and in Slovakia, all of
which territories are regarded by His Majesty's
Government as being in enemy occupation*
