October 28th 1939* mm Sir. , In response to the request contained /Ufy ' ln my of September 1st the United States Government have been good enough to undertake the protection of the persons, property and interests for whose protection His Majesty* s Ambassador in Germany and the Consular Officers under his superintendence would normally be responsible.
