Sir, ffith reference to your Secret telegram No. 100 of the 25th August, and to previo-s correspondence, ielative to the visit of H.M.S. "Achilles" to certain Pacific Islands, I have the honour to transmit to you, at the instance cf my Ministers, the accompanying copy of a report of the Commanding Officer relating to his visit to Kingman Keef. 2. With regard to paragraph 5 of the report, Ministers are advised that the snip, having arrived o£f. iCingman Beef two days ahead of her progra^e, did not receive Admiralty message 1326 of the 26th August until after the U.S.S. "Gamble" was sighted. 3. It has been observed that the Station Order Book instructions referred to in the minute of the Commodore Commanding are at variance with the procedure laid down for reporting movements.
