June, 1937. / 53 2] ^ With reference to Colonial Office letter No. 15/3164/37 of the 31st March, and subsequent correspondence dealt with in Air Ministry letter S.36757/11 of the 14th instant, on the subject of the proposed investigation of the seadrome site at Suva in connection with the contemplated trans-Pacific air service to New Zealand, I am directed "by the Secretary of State for Air to enclose, for easy reference, a copy of a ca"ble dated 13th June emanating from the Hear Admiral Commanding Ships at the New Zealand Station (of which cable a copy has already "been circulated "by the Admiralty to your Department) and to state that he welcomes the information that the New Zealand Government have "been able to arrange definitely for H.M.S. Achilles to call at Suva in the course of her cruise in the Pacific. 2. Lord Swinton assumes that it is the intention of the New Zealand Government to take this opportunity of arranging for the investigation of air facilities at Suva during the period of the ship!s stay at this port. 3.
