Government House, Suva, Fiji. 14th January, 1939. Dear Acheson, You may care to know in good time the arrangements I have provisionally made with the Naval Authorities for High Commission visits in the course of 1939. As this is my first year, and as I am naturally anxious to see as many as possible of the groups with my own eyes as soon as possible, especially in view of the increased interest being manifested in some of the islands, I have provisionally arranged with the Navy to make two cruises this year instead of the normal one. Naturally, the dates will be liable to change through unforeseen circumstances; but, as at present arranged, I have fixed up with them the following programme: (a) May 24th to about August 7th, tour in H.il.S. "Wellington" to New Hebrides, Solomons, Gilbert and Ell ice Islands and Hotuma; (b) about end of September or early October, cruise in H.U.S. "Leith" to the Phoenix Group, Panning and Christmas and possibly other of the Line Islands. Yours sincerely, (Sgd.) H. C. LUKE. A. B. Acheson, Esquire
