I understand that your secret telegram of the 7th
March No033 to the Governor General of New Zealand (July 24th)
has not yet been fully considered by the New Zealand
Government, but there are indications that it may be
suggested by them that the terms ol the reply to the United
States Government should be discussed at the forthcoming
^e fence Conference*   u'ould you wiah me to press the
Government of New Zealand to agree to immediate reply to the
United States Government as proposed?
