I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt 6f~your note
no* 111 of March 20, 1939 In which you have expressed the
hope that In view of the privileges of free withdrawal which
have been granted in the United Kingdom for a considerable
time past to aircraft registered in the United States, the
Oolleotor of Customs at New York would be instructed as soon
gff f&£,r£   as possible by the Treasury Department as to the privileges
of free withdrawal which should be granted to aircraft
H   registered in the United Kingdom.

^ Further inquiry has been made of the Secretary of the
Treasury in regard to the above matter.
I shall be glad to communicate further with you in
