I have the hdnor to refer to my note of March 31,
1939 informing you that further inquiry had been made of
the Secretary of the Treasury in regard to the privileges
of free withdrawal which may be granted to aircraft regis-
tered in the United Kingdom.
I am now in receipt of a letter dated April 12, 1939
from the Assistant Secretary of the Treasury informing me
that the question of free withdrawal privileges for aircraft
M|i —/\   a registered in the United Kingdom is receiving the careful

consideration of the Treasury Department and that a full
reply will be made to the Department of State's inquiry
at as early a date as practicable.
