I had an interesting talk with Gen Watson yesterday.
He still thinkd that the President will run for a third
term ,though he admits he doesn't KNOW.
Failing that Roosevelt's first choice now Would be
Mr Hull ,who would get Parley's backing .The only other
possible is Mac NUtt ^but Parley hates him .Garner doesn't
stand a chance of nomination •

Hull would not be a good candidate .but if Roosevelt
started soon to build him up ,by giving him all the credit
for foreign policy he could be made popular ,as the Admin's
foreign policy is at prsent their most popular point.
