of the 7th June, I have the honour to inform
you that I have now been instructed by Hie
Majesty's Principal   ecretary of State for
Foreign Affairs formally to request the United
States Government to be good enough to undertalte
theprotection of the persons, property and
interests for whose protection His Majesty's
Ambassador in Italy and consular officers
under his superintendence are normally responsible.
