To complete its collection of maps of the Caribbean
area, the War Department urgently desires to take aerial
photographs of the central group of the Lesser Antilles.
Aajl To that end the War Department has requested me to
inquire informally whether there is any objection on the
*   J        o ^    part of the authorities of your Government to photographic
vJW.c flights of united States Army airplanes over St. Lucia
and its vicinity.

I should be grateful for an indication from you
whether the appropriate authorities of your Government
are disposed to grant the desired permission, and if so,
whether the flights may be undertaken in the immediate
future.   The Department will, of course, inform the
Qnbassy in ample time of the date on which the flights
are to take place.
