mittee on Foreign Relations and together with the message and the accom-
panying pa)>ers was ordered to be printed in confidence for the use of the
Senate

To the Senate of the United States:
To the end that I may receive the advice and consent of the Senate
to ratification, I transmit herewith a treaty between the United States
of America and the Commonwealth of Australia signed at Washington
September u\ 1940, amending in their application to Australia certain
provisions of the Treaty for the Advancement of Peace between the
United States of America and Great Britain, signed at Washington,
September 15, 1914.
I transmit also for the information of the Senate a report by the
Secretary of State regarding the treaty.
