Facilities: U.S.Army 195k/'o AO ft October 17th, 19U0 My dear UrĀ« Under Secretary of State, In your let -er of September 23rd to the Ambassador, you enquired whether the authorisation given some time ago, on a request from the ar Department, for aerial photographs to be taken of the Central Group of the Lesser Antilles, could be extended to include British Guiana, since it appeared probable that similar flights over certain portions of that territory might be desired in the near future. I write to say that we have now heard from the Foreign Office in London that there will be no objection to similar flights over British Guiana. It appears, ho\7crver, that there are no facilities for the landing of land aircraft in British Guiana, but if this is so, the War Department is no doubt aware of it. The Honourable r Mr. Sumner Welles, Under Secretary of State of the United States, Washington, U. C# 3elieve me, ;.y dear :.r. Under Secretary of State, Very sincerely yours, (SOD) i ACSM:R2S:GL
