With reference to your note of December L4,
I have been pleased to transmit to the President
the last paragraph of the message which the House
of Assembly in Bermuda sent to the Governor of the
Colony in regard to various matters connected with
the establishment of the United States naval base in
the Island.
The President deeply appreciates the kindly
sentiments contained in the message.
