as his Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary
to the United States In succession to the late
marquess of Lothian, the Right Honourable The
Viscount Halifax, K.O., at present His Majesty's
Principal Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
I should be grateful if I might be
informed whether this appointment will be
agreeable to the President of the United States.
