C, January 15th, 1941 No. 63 Sir, • * With reference to my telegram No. 1812 of 14Sopo/^othe 24th August, 1940, and to connected correspondence - ' regarding the disposition of contributions for the "Spitfire Fund", I have the honour to report the following additional large contributions which have "been received within the past week: -no it Mrs. Theodore Beebe, Hitz-Carlton Hotel, Boston, Massachusetts Mrs. Wenden, c/o Mrs. Ormond Gould, "Landsend", Port Lauderdale, Florida $10,000.00 - 5,000.00 2. These amounts have "been paid into His majesty's Government's Current Account "G" with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. I have thought it advisable to make this notification in case it may "be desired to transfer the sterling equivalent of the fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000.00) to the Ministry of Aircraft Production in advance of the receipt of By "Contributions" account for the current quarter. 3. Letters of thanks have "been sent to the two contributors but the Minister of Aircraft Production may also wish to acknowledge the gifts. In this connexion, however, I have to state that Mrs. 'Vend en particularly desires that her gift should receive no publicity.
