Copy to Mr/ J.W. V/heeler- Bennett. November 13th, 19U1. Dear Mr. Ordway, I arc afraid I still have little 'jcx to add to my letter of October 2nd. I ' have heard that the possibility of creating a non-skilled section of the Civilian Technical Corps, about which I wrote to Mr. Ilorris Tibbetts on October 23rd, is ' being wo rise d on by the Defence Departments in London, and the Ministry of Labour are also investigating the possibilities of employing the services of your group in other spheres. They do not seem to be getting on with it very fast, and I am doing what X can to induce them to get a move on* I am afraid that all this lei3urely progress must be disappointing to you. Meanwhile you might think the following matter worth following up. I understand that Mr. Kric Biddle is setting up an unofficial committee to arrange that selected American citizens should go to the United Kingdom to do administrative and social welfare work. So far as I understand the position, this scheme has mainly in mind trained persons with experience and high qualifications in these particular fields, but it might nevertheless be worth your while to get in touch with Mr. Biddle, whose address is 552 Transportation Building, Washington, D.C. Yours sincerely, W. G. Hayter. Mr. .T.A. Ordway, 2nd, Eliot H 53, Cambridge, Mass achuset ts. V/GH: HK
