Anglo-Soviet Communique on Talks of Messrs. Stalin and Molotov with Mr. Eden in Moscow. In second half of December there took place in Moscow, between President of Council and People's Commissars, J. V. Stalin, and People's Commissar for Foreign Affairs, J. k. Molotov on one hand and British Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Anthony Eden on other, an exhaustive exchange of views on questions relating to conduct of war and to post war organisation of peace and security in Kurope. The Soviet Ambassador in Great Britain, I. .V. Maisky, and His Majesty's Ambassador in U.S.S.K., Sir Stafford Cripps, were present at these conversations. Further, some meetings were attended by British Permanent Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Sir A. Cadogan, and by Vice Chief of British Imperial General Staff, Lieutenant General Nye. The conversation, wnich took place in a friendly atmosphere, showed identical view of both parties concerning question relating to conduct of war and especially with regard to necessity for utter defeat of Hitlerite Germany and adoption thereafter of measures to render completely impossible any order of German aggression in future. Kxchange of views on question relating to post war organisation of peace and security provided much important and useful material which will facilitate a future elaboration of/ 2- ot concrete proposals on this subject. Both parties are convinced that Moscow conversation constitutes a new important forward step towards closer collaboration between U.S.S.R. and Great Britain.
