Abstract
Interview with Mr Arthur William ('Tommy') ANDERSON. Born 12 October 1923, Dalston, London. Educated at local school until 14. After school, spent six months at a diamond merchant in Hatton Garden, and a period in a solicitor's office. Joined F & N Durlacher in 1938 as an office boy and then a transfer clerk. Returned to the firm after the War as a 'red button', 'blue button', and was made an authorised dealer in 1950. Became a member of the Stock Exchange in 1954. Became a partner in the firm in 1970. Retired from Wedd Durlacher in 1984.
