Abstract
Interview with Mr Les TURTLE. Office Manager, Wedd Durlacher Mordaunt. Born 15 January 1927, Stratford, London. Left school at 14 in 1941. Started work with stockbrokers Fenn & Crosthwaite as messenger/post boy. Joined army in 1945 but on his return in 1948 developed rheumatoid arthritis making walking difficult, so worked in the office rather than on the floor of the Exchange. Moved to Durlacher, Deacon Godson in 1954 and became office manager in 1965. Became a member of the Stock Exchange in 1969. Partner in Durlacher, 1974.
