Abstract
Interview with Mr George T BIRKS. Born 13 September 1932, Walton on Thames, Surrey. educated at Cranleigh, Surrey. After National Service in the army, jointed brokers De Soete & Gordon in 1949. Applied for a 'blue button' job with Phillips & Drew in 1957. Became a member of the Stock Exchange in 1961 and a senior dealer and partner at Phillips & Drew in 1963. Member of the Stock Exchange Council in 1980.
