History school exercise books, John Yapp 1975-78

Citation: Yapp, John (1975) History school exercise books, John Yapp 1975-78. [Image] (Unpublished)

John Yapp attended Phoenix Comprehensive School, Telford from 1974-9. He 'always enjoyed history lessons, although my schoolwork may not reflect this!' He was taught by a mixture of blackboard and BBC radio or TV for Schools programmes. He also did some research in the school library and went on a number of school trips, including Warwick Castle and Blists Hill (Ironbridge). The exercise books show a variety of work - the writing, though obviously linked to what he was hearing in class, appears to be in his own words (rather than copied or dictated) and then marked by the teacher. He has illustrated his work throughout with coloured drawings.
