Abstract
Ron Rooney was at the time of the interview, Geography and History Adviser for County Durham LEA. He contrasts the ways in which geography and history are taught in local schools and discusses the impact of inspection and league tables and the support given by the Advisory Service. There is significant background noise to this interview as it was recorded in a cafeteria. Interviewed by Nicola Sheldon.
