Article discussing the influence of the dictatorship of Paraguay by José Gaspar Rodríguez de Francia y Velasco upon that of Buenos Aires by Juan Manuel José Domingo Ortiz de Rosas. This is a translation of an article originally published in the 'Gaceta Mercantil', July 22 1846, and of observations on the article, originally published in the 'Comercio del Plata', August 3, 4 and 5 1846
