Abstract
Two issues of the 'Diario Mercantil de Cadiz'. Issue no. 6019, dated Friday 26 April 1833, includes meteorological information and 'Noticias de America', with news taken from Venezuelan gazettes concerning immigrants from the Islas Canarias, a royal order informing of a foreign ship situated at the entrance to the island of Cuba, and 'Edicto de sanidad', with details of the spread of cholera across Europe. Issue no. 6.020, dated Saturday 27 April 1833, includes meteorological information, news of a military campaign at Palencia, the succession of the Spanish throne, and the offer of two awards from the Spanish Royal Academy to promote Castilian poetry.
