Abstract
Directives on future aide-mémoire by the British Embassy in Washington, D.C. to US State Department. It is based on correspondence from the Foreign Office (A00001244) concerning actions to be taken by the British garrisons in Shanghai and Tientsin if the Japanese threaten these settlements or are at war with the British.
