Abstract
Victor Mallet's analysis of contemporary US politics, including a review of President Roosevelt's address to the 76th Congress on January 4, 1939, reduction in the 'dictatorial' emergency powers of the President, and the Senate's Sheppard Committee on the Works Progress Administration and its exploitation for partisan political purposes.
