Abstract
The aim of this research was to investigate the relationship between iron park furniture, public parks and their users by considering three questions. What furniture was provided and how did it vary? Who commissioned it, with what intent? Who produced park furniture and how were users involved? 1860-1914 was the period of major public park development and the simultaneous flourishing of the British iron industry.
