Abstract
Charlotte Crow attended Islington Green School in London where she was taught history using the 'new history' approach, ie through enquiry and the use of historical evidence. Charlotte's book includes a number of historical topics, including Columbus's voyages of discovery, the Schools History Project's investigation into the death of 'Mark Pullen', the Anglo-Saxons and the Battle of Hastings. The key theme in these topics is the use of evidence, explored for instance through an investigation of the Sutton Hoo mounds in Suffolk and accompanied by many carefully-drawn and coloured illustrations.
