Abstract
This dissertation explores the life and work of F. Inigo Thomas (1865-1950) within the context of garden design in the late nineteenth century. It investigates his connection with the concept of the garden in relation to the house; it illustrates how Thomas’s garden design philosophy manifested itself; and it assesses the impact and legacy of his work. Thomas is less well-known in the public domain than some of his peers, but this dissertation seeks to present a more in-depth picture of the man and his work.
